Croatia is acquiring new weapons: We are buying long-range anti-tank guided missiles and armored vehicles

Croatian Parliament Defense Committee approves procurement projects worth up to 5 million euros

The Defense Committee of the Croatian Parliament gave a positive opinion on the projects to equip the Croatian Armed Forces, namely for the procurement of long-range SPIKE LR anti-tank guided missiles, the procurement of additional armored combat vehicles - BOV Patria CRO, the procurement of RIB boats for maritime operations, and the modernization of the AN/FPS-117 radar system and the upgrade of the Croatian Air Force's combat communication system, the Ministry of Defense reported.

The Croatian Parliament's Defense Committee has given a positive opinion on procurement projects for the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces. The procurement of SPIKE anti-tank guided missiles, Patria armored combat vehicles, RIB boats for maritime operations, as well as the modernization of the radar system and the upgrade of the Croatian Air Force's combat communication system were supported. Minister of Defense Mario Banožić expressed his satisfaction that members of the Croatian Parliament's Defense Committee have given a positive opinion on equipment and modernization projects worth up to 5 million euros.

"After decades of non-investment in the Croatian Army, the Government led by Andrej Plenković is continuously investing in equipment and modernization. Four important projects for equipping the Croatian Army with modern means were presented to the Parliamentary Committee on Defense," said the Minister of Defense. "This concerns the procurement of SPIKE LR anti-tank guided missile systems, which will ensure the ability to destroy armored vehicles in all weather conditions, at distances greater than 3,000 meters. The SPIKE LR anti-tank guided missile system is integrated into the Patria CRO armored combat vehicle. The procurement of additional Patria vehicles is the second project that has been presented to the Defense Committee," emphasized Minister Banožić.
