ADASI Showcases Garmoosha Unmanned Helicopter in the Middle East

Edge Group subsidiary ADASI successfully showcased its Garmoosha light unmanned helicopter in February 2023 to several armed forces in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy.
According to ADASI officials, the demonstration was part of ongoing field trials in the Abu Dhabi region for an undisclosed customer from the UAE.
Garmoosha is primarily designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Powered by a 130 hp piston engine, the 550 kg UAV can hover at 10,000 ft and reach a maximum speed of 150 km/h. In its standard configuration, it can carry up to 120 kg of payload.
The aircraft can be equipped with L3 Harris Wescam MX-10/MX-15 electro-optic/infrared systems, Hensoldt Argos ISR, radar, and LIDAR. It operates with a line-of-sight datalink of 150 km range and has an endurance of eight hours. Garmoosha can be remotely controlled or follow pre-programmed GPS coordinates.
Development of Garmoosha began in 2019, with its maiden flight taking place in 2020. As of March 2023, the land operations version has entered full-rate production for the undisclosed customer, while work continues on the naval variant. Plans for a heavy fuel engine version—often favored by naval operators for safety reasons—have been discontinued.
Although ADASI is marketing Garmoosha to both civil and military users, the current focus of development remains firmly on military applications.
