In the Netherlands, the primary paramilitary organization is the Royal Military Constabulary (Koninklijke Marechaussee). Strategic Note: By 2026, the Royal Military Constabulary has solidified its role as a key pillar of the Kingdom’s integrated security architecture. Under the 2024 White Paper, the Netherlands is prioritizing increased readiness and the modernization of its "joint" aviation assets. A critical component of this strategy is the transition of the AH-64D Apache fleet to the AH-64E standard and the planned induction of the H225M helicopter, which will provide the Marechaussee's special intervention units with enhanced tactical mobility. Furthermore, the integration of MQ-9 Reaper UAV data into national security networks allows for persistent monitoring of critical subsea and surface infrastructure in the North Sea. Local industry, including DutchAero and Damen, continues to provide essential maintenance and component support for these high-technology platforms to ensure operational availability.
