Total Armed Forces approximately 150,000 personnel (Taliban forces). 
Air Force Personnel numbers are integrated within the total force structure.

• 1 Antonov An-26 Curl.
• 2 Antonov An-32 Cline.
• 5 Cessna 208B Grand Caravan.

• HELICOPTER 5 combat capable. Total 23 Helicopters.

Attack (Helicopters) with 5 hel:

• 4 Mil Mi-35 Hind.
• 1 Mil Mi-25 Hind.

Multi-Role & Scout (Helicopters) with 14 hel:

• 8 MD Helicopters MD-530F.
• 6 Mil Mi-17 Hip H.

Medium Transport (Helicopters) with 4 hel:

• 4 Sikorsky S-70/UH-60A Black Hawk.

Air Defence

• Guns: 14.5mm ZPU-4; 23mm ZU-23-2; 37mm Type-65/74.
• Note: The Taliban administration has stated a priority to procure anti-aircraft missiles to defend against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Armament

• Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM): 9K114 Shturm (RS-AT-6 Spiral).
• Air-to-Surface Missiles (ASM): AGR-20A APKWS. (Limited stock/seized)

Note: The strength and capability of the Afghan Taliban’s air arm remain difficult to assess following the collapse of the previous government. While the Taliban have successfully returned a limited number of seized Western-supplied and Soviet-era platforms to service, their ability to maintain Western-derived equipment (such as the UH-60A, MD-530F, and Cessna 208B) is expected to diminish over time due to international sanctions and limited access to spare parts. Current operations are primarily focused on internal and border security.
