Strategic Note (2026)

By 2026, France has significantly ramped up its investment in space-based capabilities, with a stated goal of increasing space spending by EUR 4.2 billion by 2030. The Strategic Nuclear Forces have completed the transition to an "all-Rafale" air arm, while the FOST remains the primary guarantee of "second-strike" capability. The Air Space Control Brigade is currently modernizing its "eyes in the sky" by moving from the legacy E-3F platform to the GlobalEye/Global 6500 standard, ensuring superior detection of low-signature and high-speed threats in the European and Indo-Pacific theaters.
