As part of the CAP55 (Capability 55) modernization plan, Malaysia continues to review its support aircraft requirements, though recent priority has been placed on maritime patrol (ATR 72MP) and light combat aircraft (FA-50) to address regional security challenges. Future modernization of the VIP fleet is typically handled through separate government procurement cycles outside the standard military modernization budget.
