Capabilities & Role
The assets of the Colombia National Government Aviation are operated by the Presidential Transport Squadron of the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC). This wing is exclusively tasked with the secure transportation of the President of the Republic, high-ranking government officials, and visiting foreign dignitaries.
The fleet consists of a mix of modern business jets, such as the Legacy 600 and Boeing 737BBJ, and legacy systems like the F-28 Fellowship. Rotary-wing support is provided by specialized VIP versions of the AW139 and UH-60L Black Hawk, which facilitate secure access to remote regions of the country. As part of the FAC, these units benefit from the force's overall modernization strategy and its status as a NATO global partner, which ensures high levels of maintenance and operational readiness for executive transport missions. Furthermore, the government’s strategic awareness is supported by the FAC's recently established space operations center and its Earth observation satellites.
