Royal Jordanian Police & Gendarmerie Aviation

Jordan utilizes a centralized battle management model where the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) operates and maintains the manned aircraft and helicopters used to support the nation's law enforcement and paramilitary requirements. The Gendarmerie is a high-readiness paramilitary force focused on internal security, counter-terrorism, and border interdiction, specifically targeting narcotics and weapons smuggling.

Status: Integrated Command. Mission: Internal security, urban surveillance, search and rescue (SAR), and counter-smuggling operations.

• 10 Airbus H135/EC635 (Standard platform for light utility and urban law enforcement).

• (Note: RJAF also operates Robinson R44 and H125 platforms for multi-phase pilot instruction).

Note: By 2026, the aviation capabilities supporting Jordanian police and Gendarmerie forces are defined by high-tech integration with the RJAF. The Gendarmerie's specialized units are highly regarded internationally and utilize the RJAF's extensive Black Hawk and H135 fleets for "distributed lethality" and rapid response. Manned assets are centrally managed to ensure maximum serviceability, while the Cessna 208 (Recce) remains the mainstay for persistent border domain awareness against smuggling activities.
